For axially securing shafts

DIN 471 Seeger A retaining rings are axially installed shaft retaining elements designed to securely locate and retain components on shafts. They prevent axial displacement by transmitting high axial forces between the loaded machine element and the precisely machined groove in the shaft. Their standardized geometry and high-strength construction ensure reliable load transfer, secure seating, and long-term performance, even under dynamic operating conditions. These retaining rings are widely used in mechanical and power transmission applications where precise positioning and dependable axial retention are critical.

APPLICATION

  • Mechanical engineering

  • Automotive engineering

  • Gear systems

  • Electrical engineering

  • Precision Mechanica

  • Apparatus engineering

INSTALLATION

DIN 471 A retaining rings are installed axially by expanding the ring with retaining ring pliers and placing it into the shaft groove. Once released, the ring snaps securely into the machined groove, ensuring precise positioning and stable axial retention of the assembled components.
